Poem 36 - Creeping Up The Stairs Forever
I’m creeping up the stairs, To reach my next target, I’m going to catch them unawares,
She’s asleep in there, A door far away, I’m creeping up the stairs,
They’re asleep up here, I tiptoe closer to them, I’m going to catch them unawares,
These mile-long stairs, They last forever, I’m creeping up the stairs,
The corridor is getting further, I start to wonder why I’m here, ‘I’m going to catch them unawares,’
These mile-long stairs, Are starting to come to an end, I’m creeping up the stairs, I’m going to catch them unawares.
Thought I'd write something in the style of Villanelle (or whatever it's called). It's not one of my best poems, nor one of my longest, though every piece of work counts, right?
