Thank you for raising me
Into the young woman I am today.
I may no longer be with you always
But I will bring the lessons you have taught me.
Thank you for loving me
More than anyone else could.
Because of your love
I have learned warmth and passion.
Thank you for caring about me
Longer than anyone else has.
It has taught me
The importance of friendships and family.
Thank you for scolding me
Even when it was hard to do so.
You have taught me
What it means to learn from one’s mistakes.
Thank you for holding me
Deep within your arms.
This has taught me
Just how to show others I care.
Thank you for standing up for me
Even when the world is against me.
Now I know
That someone will always be there.
Thank you for turning every chance you had into a lesson
To make me smarter than I could have ever been.
Now I will forever
Do the same to my children.
Thank you for pushing me forward
While hiding away your tears.
You have allowed me to move on
From the one I hold so dear.
I love you mother
And that will never change.
For the lessons you have given me
I will say once more;
Thank you.

- Title: Thank You
- Artist: DDustty
- Description: I wrote this poem in class to give to my mom awhile back. I was graduating soon and therefore thought it’d be appropriate to use it to express how much I appreciated that she supported me, loved me unconditionally and overall was just better than she gave herself credit for. This poem is supposed to be nice, simple and a little repetitive. (I also know it’s a little rough cough cough) I hope you guys enjoy reading it! C:
