-
she had skins
stitched together in invisible seams that
tremble fall apart silver threads like
glassy bowls dark moons
she tried on different skins every day
sewing plastic flesh and red lips
at night she would slowly peel off
one by one
layers unravel ribbons like moonlight
crawl in between cotton sheets
jumbled arteries sinew and brittle bones
dappled moonlight
she cannot recall
what her skin
used to look like
