I am from the many parts of the world
I am from Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Italy and many other places unknown
Reincarnated, who knows how many times?
Currently from my mother's belly in the many weathers of Eugene Oregon
I am from the imagination of books
Creativity, songs and dreams
Listening closely as it tells a message
Something I can relate to
I am from back in the day, working away
A slave who smells the fear and courage in the air
Tasting bittersweet triumph through tears of those lost
When we were set free
I am from the love and care of family
laughing friends
funny pets
And most of all a sunny set
I am from a dark past
Living fast
Losing last
Hoping for a better life next
I am from the soft petals of flowers
The sounds of singing birds
The smell of fresh air surrounding me
Living in pure beauty
I am from the sights of war
Losing friends
Death...all around
An eerie sort of sense in the air
I am from the smells of thanksgiving turkey
Walks, climbing and sage
Turning blue in the cold winter snow
Laughing and playing with the crazy cousins
I am from all these things
And many more yet to be remembered and many yet to pass
Reincarnated who knows how many times?
I am from my past future and present

- Title: I Am From
- Artist: Bri-the_cookie_goddess
- Description: This was a poem I wrote for a class project. As a practising Buddhist, I thought to integrate it with my poem. I also put in the places I want to travel to, the places where my ancestors originated from.
