Dispositional tendencies are hard to overcome
Trust, once spent, is not easily won.
Pretender, hide your eyes.
It begins again, faith growing in fragility-
But the past bleeds through intermittently
For no one loves your lies.
Nature fights boldly; nurture overcomes unequivocally.
But where are you now?
Trapped, the beast roars, it cries.
For he craves you yet (but he does not know)
The horrible lengths to which you willingly go
And the abominable ashes from which you arise.
