And I am a dove
Looking for shelter,

Our love shoots up to the sky,
And falls to the ground.

cordis dont listen to loremthere is no true limit to a poem
there is no such thing over used words in a poem
no one decides if your poem is original or not besides yourself
so continue writing the way you like and dont one time stop and think on how other people will think of a poem

I understand your feelings are well portrayed using "old and true" sayings, but you can't put them in a poem and call it original. I mean, most of these I've either heard a million times or could come up with off the top of my head without putting any real effort in it.
