Can you imagine an empty world,
once of beauty and wonder, now cold?
As you think the illusion ceases,
and you see naught but the human diseases
that ruined this place from the ground to the sky,
while the few who remained could only ask why.
Terror hung heavy over all of the land,
squeezing its life out with a merciless hand.
The bodies left rotting in the gutters and streets
were then nothing more than the scavengers' treats.
Red skies, inferno, the piles of dead,
and the earth was a place where even rats dared not tread.
All the while laughing in their bunkers so deep,
after cheering and toasting, the guilty did sleep.

- Title: End Times
- Artist: Miss Amelia Pond
- Description: Found this in an old notebook. The calculus notes next to the poem suggest that it's probably around four years old; as such, I don't remember the mindset or context under which I wrote this.
