They stop, watch and talk as I “grieve”
They see my life as a pesky weed
Framed as a victim by what others perceive.
Apparently I wear a mask, I deceive
They assume I share their superficial greed
They stop, watch and talk as I “grieve.”
An iron curtain built is what I conceive
In this cold war, can I succeed?
Framed as a victim by what others perceive.
What keeps me warm? My pride and sleeve.
That’s all I have and all I need
They stop, watch and talk as I grieve.
My mind yells “hush can’t you just leave,
“sticks and stones” ’’ I repeat my small creed
I am a victim by what others perceive
Could it all be fake, just make-believe?
Paranoid by one word, just a seed.
They pass by in silence as I grieve.
I am a victim by what I perceive.
