In the mirror, what do you see?
I see a wave of constant pain
One fit for demons of Hell
Falling down to hit the ground
Like the dime of a wishing well.
I see a soul, lost and grieved
With nowhere to run or hide
The only thing left in its life
Is the amount of time to bide.
I see a boy, dressed and black
With scars across him arms
With a dead look in his eyes
To himself more he harms.
I see a tree of deadened leaves
And a trunk made out of stone
Under the tree marked by grief
A boy sits all alone.
I see a knife dipped in death
With blood along the blade
Searing flames come from his hand
He wished he would have stayed.
I see a dark cloud above
Raining its sorrowful tears
The boy then stands to fade away
Taking only his fears
I see the boy all alone
Wishing he would have died
So I walk into the glass frame
And stand right by his side.
I see the empty life I had
From which I have gone
To start a new life inside
The mirror of no dawn.
Many would look upon this land
As a tomb of pure exile
But the best thing that I see
Is when that boy shows a smile.

- Description: This poem is one I wrote about my best friend. He used to be really lonely because everyone hated him, and he was on the edge of commiting suicide. So I stepped in and became his friend. He is now my best friend and I love him dearly as if he were my own brother.
