Yellow, Pink, and Green
The wind that blows,
oh so calmly,
Is drifting swiftly through my hair.
The sun,
oh so shiny,
Is glowing it’s bright rays at me.
I stare at the sky,
Filled with clouds,
On this wonderful day,
The day I’ve always dreamed of.
I turn over,
And my hand brushes your face,
Such a soft face,
With such tender lips smiling at me.
You move your face,
oh so slightly,
closer to mine,
and I get up and smile down at you.
You look confused, dear,
Are you okay?
You seem to fade, dear,
Are you sure you’re here to stay?
No, it’s not true,
Because this moment,
It’s not real.
It’s the moment I dream of,
But it will never come true.
Because you’re so far away from me.
These golden flowers,
These pink petals,
The greenness of the far-away trees,
They look so real,
So lovely,
But you’re not here with me.
This dream I had,
Of you and I,
Will always be in my heart,
‘till the day we meet my love,
I will wait,
So that those golden flowers,
Those pink petals,
And the green trees,
Will be ours once and for all.

- Title: Yellow, Pink, and Green
- Artist: Cazumi Yamitano
- Description: I wrote this poem on 3/5/11. My cousin gave me the idea to write about a meadow. This poem is about a girl (me) who is laying with her beloved (<3) in a beautiful meadow, but she then realizes that indeed this meadow is only a dream, and is not real. Her meadow world starts vanishing and her beloved starts fading. The love she has for this guy is incredible, and she will wait as long as she has to in order for this meadow to be theirs once and for all.
