Your Little Girl
Just because I'm growing up
Doesn't mean I have to change.
Just because I am a teen
Doesn't mean I'll go on a rampage.
Just because school is hard
And at night I often cry
Doesn't mean I've turned so emotional
That I suddenly want to die.
Why have you come so suspicious Mom?
Inspecting my every move.
It's quite sad that you don't trust me,
So I guess I'll have to prove...
That I don't want a baby
At age sixteen
And that I'm only irritated at my homework,
When I scream that horrible scream.
I don't want purple highlights in my hair,
But then again...
Why do you suddenly care?
Just because I'm growing up
Doesn't mean I have to change.
Oh mom, why can't you believe
That your little girl is still the same?

- Title: Your Little Girl
- Artist: PrincessLeiko
- Description: A poem I wrote when my mom caught me looking up 'purple highlights' on google, as I was trying to see if it'd fit the look for one of my characters in a story I'm writing. She's suddenly been watching me like a hawk, over things that never mattered or cared before...
