Something inside me is waiting to get out.
It’s bubbling and hissing and heating up.
It comes to the top, scorching hot,
But all I can seem to do is smoke.
The rumbling and growling from deep inside,
Warns others that it’s time to hide.
I’m gonna blow, but no one knows
When or how bad it will be.
The rage is building to the top.
Pretty soon I’m gonna blow right up.
Up and up, and then flowing out,
Polluting the world with angry fire,
Spitting out of my heart through my mouth.
The earth shakes and the clouds thunder.
Everyone shouts in fear and shock
As if they never expected the wrath.
My veins pulsed with the life.
They boiled as the terror grew.
My actions engulfed another’s life
To satisfy my very own.
I settle down and cool off,
But the damage has been done.
All that remains is sorrow
In the form of cooled molten rock.
