You tell me I am worth something
I agree to keep your smile
It's worth much more to me than any trinket
I felt for the first time in a while
I can not help but lie to you
I wear no frown upon my face
Inside I feel so differently
But outside I leave no trace
These lies are held with well kept eyes
It's a wonder no one's figured it out
But I can not hide with you by my side
Of that I have no doubt
You tell me I'm intelligent
I agree to make you believe
The things you told me and made me feel
My emotions you did deceive
I can not help but push you away
Somehow I keep you near
It's odd to have a distant love
When I see you standing here
These lies are held with well kept eyes
It's a wonder no one's figured it out
But I can not hide with you by my side
Of that I have no doubt
You tell me I am wonderful
I agree to make you think
There's nothing wrong and I do belong
In reality my heart still shrinks
I can not help but trick you
I want everything for you not I
I've tried so hard to shout it out
Still I can't say goodbye
These lies are held with well kept eyes
It's a wonder no one's figured it out
But I can not hide with you by my side
Of that I have no doubt
You tell me I am hiding
I agree then look away
I know in my mind you've got me cornered
You've seen through me every day
I can not help but thank you
You're my guardian angel in disguise
All those things you've told me, I believe
Right when I look into your eyes
These thoughts are lost when you're around
It's no wonder you've found me out
As long as I'm with you what you said's now true
Of that I have no doubt

- Title: Steady Gaze
- Artist: Transcend_Unity
- Description: Just something I wrote to and about someone, and about all the people are most important in your life just as this particular someone is important in mine. They lifted my spirits in dark times and I wanted to say thank you in a unique way.
