So self obsessed with our own reflection
Haunted by every small imperfection
Raised to think beauty is in the flesh
Flesh that will one day decay...
Condemned to breathe this polluted air
The end is near but we're unaware
We conform to the ways of our race
Not knowing we'll soon be erased
And replaced
So comfortable as the years pass by
Watching this life cease before our eyes
Will the last words you speak satisfy
All the missed chances you had in your life
Think of the faces of those who have died
Will this hole in your heart mend in time?
When will we take a step back from the mirror
And see that our own life is not why we're here
Your lungs will dry out and with your last breath
Will you take to the grave all that you have left?
Condemned to breathe this polluted air
The end is near but we're unaware
We conform to the ways of our race
Not knowing we'll soon be erased
And replaced
So comfortable as the years pass by
Watching this life cease before our eyes
Will the last words you speak satisfy
All the missed chances you had in your life
Think of the faces of those who have died
Will this hole in your heart mend in time?
