He told me he would leave on boat.
And arrive after on shore
I would run down to the shore and wait
For I had not learned of my father's fate
By and by the days went
I sat and waitied with my knees bent
A soilder came home one night
My mother knew what it ment
I refused to believe it
For when father left and sad he would come back I believed it
I tried to block that out
No matter how I tried though
But soon I would think
What if he was defeated by a foe
His words were true
And yet it feels so cruel
I am now 10 and I know the truth
For now I shall remain aloof
For if my father has died
Then why should I myself
Not die?
