When I first met you, you where only a memory
I child sacrificed to god
I was 14 and you were buried and gone
It was winter on Boston and I was listening to your story
A young man, a solder, a Jew, alone
Gave his life to save his friends
I never forgot,
I never could,
Your story haunts me
It began with a sister
Then a childhood friend
Then a comrade in arms
I do not wish to forget
For forgetting would mean only more loss
I wish to share your story, with everyone
Your name was Michael Levin
An angel of the heart
A lone soldier
And part of my memories.
