• There is much emotion that I start to show
    When someone reads "Oh, the Places You'll Go!"
    And when my friend gets a blue hair do
    It kind of reminds me of Thing 1 and Thing 2
    But what makes me do a very small flinch
    Is whenever someone speaks of the Grinch
    Clovers, of course, remind me too
    Of one of my favorites, "Horton Hears a Who!"

    And when I grew up, I would always wish
    For something peculiar:a red or blue fish
    A Cheez-It, one of my afternoon snacks
    Is small and orange like the Lorax
    And there is one thing I always wonder
    How did Mr. Brown ever make thunder?
    There was a cat in a hat I was glad to meet
    "And to Think that I Saw it on Mullberry Street!"

    My garbage was full and I decided to dump it
    But pulled back and remembered it goes to Mt. Crumpit
    One day I looked for welcoming mats
    And ran into Bartholomew Cubbins and his 500 hats
    One person I met was an odd one to meet
    For he was a boy who wished for duck feet
    The star-bellied Sneetches were ever so loud
    Rambling on how they stand out from the crowd

    One morning my mom asked if I wanted some lamb
    I said, "I'd rather be stuck with green eggs and ham."
    A bully I met forced me to cower
    He was as tall as Yertle's tall turtle tower
    A ringmaster named Ewan McGirkus
    Made me urge the thought "If I ran the circus..."
    Praise Dr. Seuss for he has shown me a way
    To sit down and write on a cold, cold wet day
