-
Beneath these scrawls of blackened ink,
the ship of fools begins to sink.
Somewhere through the drunken haze,
Nostalgia shines from better days.
Innocent times where life was clear,
the future was bright, and success was near.
But now the shadows grow and reach,
to remind of lessons that dead men teach.
A subtle reminder of the fading past,
that becomes the dreams that cease to last.
Broken and lonely a heart grows cold,
remembering friends and loves of old.
To times that faded away to dust,
Shining pillars that began to rust.
Beyond the veil of a twisted mind,
the Dreamer ventured out to find,
the fragments of his broken dream,
that lost its luster and glowing gleam.
And in the darkness, lost and blind,
he found himself but lost his mind.
