House of the Half-Moon
“…hear my plea, Olympian sage
Bless my army, set my enemy ablaze!”
Bloodstained words of a past
Reawakened by an iron fist bright
A country in darkness to the incoming flood
Though under the crimson chariot on high
The lore that was sealed by the gods
And hidden in Earth’s tombs
Desire compels him to reign by blood
Temptation will bring the last day of doom
Will you hear my words
That history charms?
Take up your swords
Take up your arms
Chorus:
The patriots will not bow
The second eclipse comes now
We are the last nation who can blow out this candle
Meet the sun coming out from the west
Extinguish the light with a titanium tempest
Take cover under the hypnotic waves
We will see who the Maker saves
On a starlit night we prepare the assault
Nature was born without sight
Unable to distinguish the honest
Like the blaze that started Lot’s plight
Like the blaze that put Gomorrah to rest
We’re stranded on the ring of fire
There’s no difference between fight and flight
If what heaven borrowed is eras overdue
Then bury the flag of red, white, and blue
Surrounded… encircled… trapped
The dancers wave a seductive hand
To the letter I obey my last command
Under tongues of fire my will relapses
The patriots will not bow
The second eclipse comes now
We are the last nation who can blow out this candle
Stopped in our tracks by the crimson tide
Paralyzed by fright, eyes open wide
Run away, the land is burning
Run through the sand, the tide is turning
Is this the last battle our nation can handle?
Our hope hangs on the edge of oblivion
But will divine inspiration last through the ages?
I frantically search throughout history
The blinding light bows to no blades
But one…
The night is short, but the day is shorter
Fail the search, and they’ll light the fuse
O Fortuna! A lunar eclipse has come into view
Who among you warriors
Will brave the depths of the sea
To bring back a fading nation’s key
---
Reign of the Full Moon
What power is this, and, laid to rest
A blade for centuries was sleeping
Cast in the light, it will not reflect
An obsidian glow it’s keeping
You hold the moon in your hand
Blessed Selene smiles down upon you
You hold our destiny in your hand
The remains of an army are at your command
Motivation and morale shall fall
But the blue flame shines ever true
Stalwart soldiers will answer the call
And stand to defend the moonlit wall
Chorus:
The patriots will not bow
The second eclipse comes now
We are the last nation who can blow out this candle
Man, when the planets align
It’ll be too late to change your mind
‘What do I see?
With broken ranks they fall back;
Their heroes are routed, they flee headlong
without making a stand.
Terror on every side!’
- Jeremiah 46, 5
Here you will see your folly
And watch the candle illuminate the darkness
To your chariots! We make the last charge
And watch them topple like pawns in chess
Divide the sea once more
Burn the earth to the core
Flee not from the oppressor
Chorus:
The patriots will not bow
The second eclipse comes now
We are the last nation who can blow out this candle
Constellations change before your eyes
Emerge from the clouds, light up the night
The reign of the full moon cleanses the vandals
Man, when the planets align
It’ll be too late to change your mind
With the west wind we blow out the flames
But undying it rekindles, furious without end
Flashes of darkness engulf the slain
Through victim souls a devilish blade rends
Neither side pulls the rope from the other’s grasp
Will we aimlessly fight till our last gasp?
There is but one way to end this war
Confront the inciter once more
A duel at dusk will declare destiny
If the world must be carved up
The knife must first go through me
To what I knew I bid good-bye
Surrender to the whims of heaven
Follow a road led by Providence
‘Prepare your last rites, young prince
The light will reveal the error of your ways’
Chorus:
The patriots will not bow
The second eclipse comes now
We are the last nation who can blow out this candle
Constellations change before your eyes
Emerge from the clouds, light up the night
The reign of the full moon cleanses the vandals
Man, when the planets align
It’ll be too late to change your mind
Constellations change before your eyes
Emerge from the clouds, light up the night
Man, when the planets aligned
It was too late to change your mind
Meet the sun coming out from the west
Extinguish the light in a titanium tempest
Man, when the planets aligned
My sword shattered your design
