We quietly whisper the love for each other
As if we were made like a day out of winter
You whisper my name and tell me you love me
I answered you back, “ That was spoken so dryly.”
You took my hand, and said it so careful,
“The love of my life, my darling, my angel,
Your gentleness I feel it as if it was mine
As if we were a completion to each others design.”
I couldn't help but giggle, at your want to please me
All I wanted to do was kiss you my baby.
So I slowly come closer for all that I wanted
Tipped my head sideways, and just tasted.
Oh, the love of my life, how you did taste,
But you kissed me as though you were in such great haste.
Once you we were done with that gentle kiss
I asked you a question that seemed so amiss.
You told me you were dying, and soon it would be
I shook my head and laughed as if it couldn't be.
Your eyes looked so sad and I realized it was true
You weren't going to make it, at all, we were through.
I went back to all the memories to see what I had missed
I realized I'd seen it, but just wanted it dismissed.
The tears then came quickly as I thought of it all
The dreams and the hopes, and that small southern drawl.
I asked you how long, and you said around a week
You held me and said,“I love you.” when all I did was seek.
I sought for the memories, the good and the bad
This is the last one I will write, by far the most sad.
