Don’t hate me.
For I am the child, whose parents hate me
Not for something I can control
Yet simply because I am homosexual
Would you love me
If only I was heterosexual
Gay means happy, but I am not happy
For I am the child my parents hate.
I sit in my room at night and cry
Oh why did god make me this way
Why couldn’t I just be normal
But wait I am normal
Just not your definition of it
Life is confusing enough
But I am just perfect as I am
So why do my parents call me offensive names
The kids at school make fun of me
But I can not help why this way that god made me.
I start to wonder, is there any place for me
But then I find that one soul
Who is meant to be with me
He understands the way I feel
Finally I am a gay homosexual
I no longer cry at night
In stead I rest safely in his arms
I am safe and I am happy
This is how god meant me to be

- It's a good poem but I think I would use different wording.
