-
The sun rises and so do you,
A reminder of who you are too
and of those special in this life
and then you notice the knife
It lies next to you gleaming with light,
wondering if you are right,
blinded by the sadness and pain,
you wonder if you're insane.
Should I die, in this life I hate,
you wonder thinking it was too late
to stop yourself as you grab the knife
looking at your soon to be ended life.
Why did it have to come to this,
you wonder thinking you won't be someone they'll miss
and about the one you love.
The knife you're about to shove.
You stop and realize it's not too late,
that you have time to change your fate.
Your lover and friends will miss you,
and you will miss your own life too.
You drop the knife and look at the sky,
A new day for you to try
again with their hope
and build a hopeful slope.
You look back and smile,
thanking your friends for a while.
As your Lover's love
gives that sadness a shove.
You look at their face and thank them
for giving you another hopeful gem
and you look her/him in the face that you miss,
then you give him/her a kiss.
With that you look back in life
and forget the endless strife.
Smiling with hope at the happy times
as the day ends with the clocks' final chimes.

- Title: Final Rest
- Artist: Holder Of Your Heart
- Description: This is a poem I wrote after I had nearly attempted suicide, I just want to say that no matter what you think, Someone WILL miss you. I am glad I had not done what I almost did that day, It has given me new found hope and I never would've met my best friends if I had done that.

- i love everything about this poem - the suspension when your reading it, the vocabulary and the structure, but mostly the message. i'm sure this will help the people who read it smile
