Why must the winners always lose?
Why are the broken made to choose?
These defeated wretched people
Feign righteousness beneath a steeple
Staining holy bodies black
It's these our Lord God doth attack.
They all want love, but harbor hate
In bubbling vats which procreate
These cowards hide their wraiths in vain
Seek love to soothe the endless pain
In doing so, kill innocence
A sin beyond all recompence.
Damnable devotion pangs
To she whom holds my binding chains
Silences both lover's dreams
To float as one down teary streams.
Destruction lurks at river's mouth
While passion wears the motions out
Trapped within an endless game
While acts of God slow stole the flame.
Passion's fires, once blazing bright
Now shroud their sorrows in the night
Reliving moments in the haze
Slashes at me as I pray.
The Rock is now the Hunted One
Impale him slowly, just for fun
Laughter rending flesh and spirit
Though he'd gladly die to hear it
Just to know that Glass was there
Perhaps she has more love to spare.
Divine punishment here exacted
Leaves his thoughts and dreams extracted
Justice perhaps now is served
Mercy's broken grading curve.
Patience only lasts so long
For hypocratic romance songs
Using one another's lips
To sand away at dagger's tip
Dagger buried in the chest
Halts the bleeding, like the rest.
Were the lovers meant to be?
Accept suff'ring, wait and see
Were the feelings straight and true?
When they both said, "I love you"....
Though Rock left his heart wide open
It is Glass that he has
Broken.
