Departure
Deep and clear both far and near
With nary a cloud in sight
Send my soul to the sky on a butterfly
Claimed by the winter night
Flutter twice encased in ice
Numbed wings wait and ache to soar
Hands mark the hour; Time will soon devour
The life I'll have no more
Without dread I watch my thread
As it burns from white to black
No matter what awaits, I'll approach the gates
And never I'll turn back
Goodbye's a lie, my dearest
See you soon if all goes well
If I am not there on Heaven's golden stairs,
Perhaps we'll meet in Hell.

I am rather fond of this..
But "And never I'll turn back-"
I don't think that flows well, it sounds kind of choppy.
So you should fix that one part, and this will sound PERFECT.
