• The cold winter wind blows in her fur-covered face
Her paws ach because of the icy snow
It pierces her skin, her heart, her soul
    “When will it stop”?

She has no pack, no friends, no mate
    An out-cast she is
To find food on her own, and nobody to care for her death
Her pups are too young; if they die all she can do is move on
That's just the way it must be

Trees pass by her like a blurred dream
She must hurry night has already fallen
The young mother stops and bares her teeth
She throws her nose in the air; the smell of fear is all around
    Claws extended she leaps
With one try she has a small rabbit in her jaws
It's kill echo’s softly throughout the quiet forest

The blizzard storm passes and the heavens open up
With the rabbit in her mouth she runs off into the darkness
Back to her den, her pups, her home
She has hope of bringing new life
    The future of her children
She will fight no matter what
For they are the next generation

Stars simmer softly in the cold chilly sky
Their light gives her faith to go on
Tomorrow she will live, she’ll hunt, she will die
    Whatever tomorrow brings she’s ready
It is natures way, nothing more
It’s the way of life the law of a wolf
    Survive, hunt, breed
    Forever more

The cycle of life goes on, she is nothing
But for now she is something
    A mother
    A wolf
An animal with nothing but sharp teeth and claws
    But she has something better
    She has the wild Instinct
And that is her most prized possession
    Forever
