Got a letter in today
The man in the black suit gave his apologies
Not much else I can say
The silence is still too much though
Now I know how all the rest feel
To pray every day and night
For the safety of just one person

Now the stars and stripes shield our eyes
From the polished wood
A man inside
He did his duty
Fought through it all
Now he returns back to America
Just not to us

Woah! First stanza: he seems dead. Second stanza: he seems to be returning. There are times when I can't tell whether you thought into saying some of the things you said, or whether you were being psuedo-poetically vague. Either way, it has a tone about it. 4/5
