Reality Ain't What it Use T'be
By N.A. Triantaffelow
I'm afraid it's true,
This news is new.
So here's a clue;
This'a real-time blue.
Now I'm'a callous friend,
This nifty trend--
Why, being sad--
It ain't so bad!
So excusez-moi,
If I say "Ta-ta!"
But I'm not'a fan
Of this so-call plan.
And I'll cry "Merci!"
And "C'est la vie!"
Because reality...
Why, reality ain't what it use t'be.

- Title: Reality Ain't What it Use T'be
- Artist: Agrikar the Hidden
- Description: Despite it's laid-back, fun-sounding nature, this poem is lamenting life (I know, I know, I've been writing way too many negative poems lately!) It's basically explaining, through the narrator's eyes, that the 'old days' were better than the present, and he's sick of people saying "C'est la vie" (french for That's just how it is) and "Merci" (Thank you in french) when there is nothing to be thankful for, and that life should and can be better than people let it be.

I like it. Simple and elegant. Rate back (mine's a pretty long short story though)?

- As lighthearted as it sound, You did a great job making it sound laid back, it kind of shows that the happy people wonder about life and the way it goes as well...I really like your work, keep it up!
