I've told you about
Fairy tales and dreams come true,
Cauldrons and magic spells,
Dwarves and poisoned apples,
Castles of thorns.
None of them happen to me.
I don't want a prince charming.
I fight my own battles.
Still it'd be nice
to have a knight
once in a while.
Isn't it strangely sickening
the thought of prince charming.
It's not about winning
or the number of
backs you break.
Cause what's the point of that?
I'll give it my damnedest
and learn with every turn
my path takes.
This road is shadowed,
but what's there but
the challenge?
I'm not afraid to die
but I will fight
to survive
and I am better for it.
I never believed in
fairy godmothers,
and yet
I believed to easily.
Prince Charming never came,
but that doesn't bother me.

- Title: Prince Charming
- Artist: k r i f z
- Description: I began this awhile after I finished a short story called "Wendy's Adventure", based on an imaginative little girl who desperately dreams about fairy tales and finding her "Prince Charming". This poem centralizes itself around the hopelessness she experiences once she recognizes that her dreams may never come true, so her thoughts are still somewhat disoreinted. After such naivetee passes, she tries to harden her heart and carry on, attempting to forget her dreaming.
