She never said a word
She never spoke a lie
Until the shadow
Crept under her feet
Tripped her
and made her bleed
Then she stood
and away she ran
Hiding in the darkness
The shadow crept forth
and lashed upon her very soul
Then
One morning
She came back
She looked to her bedside
and thought 'it was only a dream'
but that moment
the shadow crept in return
to play another little game
