The wind is blowing, the sails are wide,
No one said it would be high tide.
Below the deck, the baby lay,
Wating to be fed, waiting to play.
Where's her guardians? Will they return?
For her feeding, the baby yearns.
Little does she know, they won't be back.
They came down as she slept and packed.
No one knows where they are,
But they left the baby, their star.
On the ocean ahead, the storm was stronger.
The baby was left, to live no longer.
When the storm hit the ship, it almost tipped.
In the water the baby was dipped.
When the water filled the hold,
Did the child survive? No one was told.
A while later, on the shore,
a cradle lay, but the baby no more.
She could have survived, or maybe she perished,
That little baby, the one whom I cherished.

Description:
I write poems but stories too and everyone said that I could turn this poem into a story. What do you think?
Warning: Even my old poetry/science teacher said that this is so depressing that he wanted to get in his car and drive into a telephone pole! LOL...haha! Enjoy.
