Something old.
It's been a long year,
"Darling, I love you."
He whispers in my ear.
Something new.
He says he likes my dress,
As we step out of the car,
I thank him with a kiss.
Something borrowed.
It's cold in England today,
And he lends me his jacket,
To fight the wind away.
Something blue.
He gets down on one knee,
His eyes sparkle as he says:
"Love, will you marry me?"

Description:
Just a short marriage poem, based on that old rhyme which i've put in italics so you know it's not my words. I chose not to include the last line "And a silver sixpence in your shoe."

Aww! That's beautiful! It really made me smile smile
I wonder what you'd have done if you'd included the last line, but's it's great as it is. - Report As Spam

- cute, succinct, and well-written. it didn't make me think too hard but it doesn't have to. i like the way that the lyrics from the old rhyme fit into the lyrics of your rhyme.
