-
The early morning sky vanquishes my darkest of shadows,
leaving me empty of feeling.
Where has our love gone?
Down the river with the melted snow,
winding down a narrow creek,
the only traces of our love left in the frozen sleet.
Was it my fault?
Spring in bloom,
chirping birds and cloudless days,
in a haze, we're standing on
the last piece of ice.
Wondering what could've been.
Was it the change of weather?
That took us by surprise
when the crunch of snow left our feet,
looking somberly at the green fields reflected in our eyes?
Or that we lost our love in the bitter winter storms?
Wind blowing against my bones,
words that have been repeated time and time again
I fall to my knees
wishing I had stayed inside.
With nothing else to say.
With nothing else to feel
but the truth of the sun shining down on us
realization that we left out love in that last doomed snowflake.
We wait
For it to hit the ground,
smashing into the lukewarm dirt
melting into nothing but water
evaporating to air
We wait
For winter to die.
So that we can be released from the icy prison we made for ourselves
Back when we were young
Back when it was cold.

- Title: Falling out of Love is Frigid
- Artist: b o n d i e e
-
Description:
The sad truth that two lovers had to face.
Spring represents their awareness that they don't love each other anymore, and that they only stay together to try to find the love they once had.
Winter symbolizes their past love, seeming to be so strong until it started melting away.
