With my wings collapsed around me
I kneel in pain and sorrow
With the Devil's breathe upon my neck
I pray to God for light to borrow
With my halo crumbled at my feet
I cry solid tears of stone
With the Devil's fingers upon my body
I pray to God to lead me home
With my flesh rotting on my back
I neglect to free a choked up shout
With the Devil's hands upon my soul
I pray to God to let me out
With my heart falling from my chest
I let my head drop onto the ground
With the Devil's fork having pierced my leg
There's a sudden silence; no more sound
With my eyes quickly opened
I gaze upon these lights and trees
With sunlight out my window
I pray to God to set me free
