The wood is placed upon His aching back
The scourging provided gashes and pain.
The falsely accused submits to attack
His feet of lead traverse the rugged plain.
The Son encounters His blessed Mother
His fears and his sweat are both wiped away.
He takes three falls, one after the other
He encounters comfort along His way.
His journey finished, he lays on the cross
The nails are driven through his hands and feet.
He forgives them, regardless of the cost
In three days, he rises from his burial sheet.
His sacrifice saves us from damnation
Lord Jesus Christ redeems his creation

- Title: Unconditional Love
- Artist: xOathkeeper_and_Oblivionx
- Description: Sonnet written for my English class, and since sonnets have to be about love, this came to mind before anything else. Sacrifice is the greatest act of love.
