Moments slow down, fear does not exist
Running to their death, another name on the list
Write a little note, promise you will be ok
Don’t hang up, even though you have nothing to say
Listen to the music, I always play it for you
Your favorite song, I’ve been here all the time if only you knew
I hold you hand, they tell me you are sleeping
I smile and say I’m fine, because you are the one from which blood is seeping
The doctor explains what is wrong, I turn away
"He will be out for a while" he tries to say
Nothing they can do but sit and wait, you were going to propose
My head rests on your pillow, your eyes tightly closed
I watch you counting each breath, your little note still in you hand,
I read the first line, and now I understand
For when you wake up and I know that you will, you can ask me for the first time
And finally, after I have waited so long you will be mine
Glancing at the calendar, I notice its almost been a year
I miss you voice and the way that you smile, I trust you though I have no fear
"HE WILL WAKE UP!" I tell them all, none of them believe me
"Its been a year, there is nothing they can do" my sister explains quietly
I will wait forever, no matter how long
I trust you completely, nothing is wrong
Ignore them when they talk like your not here
You are only sleeping, doctors and nurses all start to leer
Leave us alone! I want them to leave
The doctor grabs my hand, he takes you away from me
Your breathing slows down, nurses rush around
I memorized you note, I recite it without a sound
They close the curtains, I cant see into your room
Voices talking, starting to panic, "it will happen soon"
"It will be fine! They try to reassure
I scream each word in you note, I know what I am doing this for
Breathe for me, just one last time,
please let me see him, I know he wont be fine
Finally I get in to the room, tears in my eyes
Still you don’t wake, "he is leaving, its no surprise"
I scream as loud as I can, "ASK ME!"
ASK ME JUST ONCE! shaking you body, you want to be free
Don’t leave me now, Squeezing you hand I say a prayer
"Everyone has left us alone" I whisper in your ear, pushing back your hair
I have been counting the days, Its been over a year
I still say that same prayer, everyday in you ear
Today for the first time you open your eyes, I cannot speak
"Who are you?" you say, your voice cracked and weak.
