Sitting in an ugly house,
I wait.
But no one returns, except for the spirits that I hate.
But then someone else whispers,
"now lets play hide and seek".
And then the world of bricks and iron bars
turn to leave me.
I sing a song, and he sings back.
He spins me 'round
I learn to dance.
With all the demons gone, soon to return;
with only time for one more song.
Each day it is the same.
He came before the nightmares came;
to sing, to laugh, to play.
Until an ugly day...when I couldn't get out of bed.
My legs turned pale, and blood stained on my pillow,
I cough and choke up red.
So he holds his hand up high and says "If you come,
It'll last forever".
And so I take it, and we both fly,
I hear in my head "one thing you must remember"...
"Don't come back to this place, and don't look into the mirror."
Then I turn, and I ask "who is she? There's a girl in my bed..."
My friend says "don't worry, she doesn't know she's dead."
And so I follow him, and do what he said.
Because I know I love him, my imaginary friend.

Description:
It is a poem of the hallucinations that haunt the children of neglect, and of the terrible, and yet wonderful spirits/angels that free them. I would like to give credit to one of my childhood imaginary friends, who gave me the inspiration to write this...the reference picture is how I have always imagined the mythical lord of mischief, Loki, to look (I got it off photobucket, so please be aware that it is not my pic, just my poem)!!
