As I trudge this weary path
My mind's on other things.
I want to fly, be free and soar,
On many-feathered wings.
It won't take long to figure out
A simple plan to use,
But it will need a missing step,
And so I must peruse.
This is a wondrous life I live,
With many things to do.
The trouble is, it often seems,
That much too much is new.
I don't have time to do these things,
I've hardly time for old,
For life is short, it's often said,
And ends in fearful cold.
When I do try to proceed on
In anything, it seems,
I often find an obstacle,
Part of humanity.
But I observe that there is hope,
For if my wish comes true,
I'll fly above like no one else,
And bid this world adieu.
