Wake up
They say
Their voices drilling
Into my ears
My brain
Rattling my subconscious
Popping the bubbles
Of dreams
Larger than life.


I groan
turn over
Mumble
Why?
Why get up?


In a world
Of starvation
War
Waste
Torture
Teen pregnancy
Abortion
Corrupt governments
Broken hearts
Broken homes
Threats
Abuse
Death
Murder
Bombs
Destruction


Sometimes
I think
Humanity
Would be better off
Dreaming.
