Standing, staring at the well worn track
Watching plain ones stride beside me
Wondering what I could possibly lack
A mark whips like a stinging smack
From someone I can’t see
While standing, staring at the well worn track
Stock still, taking in the weight of my attack
Pushed out like the branches of a tree
Wondering what I could possibly lack
A strain to obtain, my mind, I rack
Jeers concerning, ‘Why is she
Standing, staring at the well worn track?’
I see the light and proudly turn my back
No longer concerned of whom to be
Not wondering what I could possibly lack
After then, I can give myself some slack
I feel sorry for the young me
Standing, staring at the well worn track
Wondering what I could possibly lack
