Through it All
I was searching through my things today
I don’t know why but I needed a change
To pick up the forgotten pieces and broken heart strings
I felt like giving up on everything
If you know what I mean
Today was a terrible day again
I was tumbling and falling so much I just can’t begin
It seems that too much is going on nowadays
I just want to run away
Then I saw that little photo on the nightstand
And somehow, I began to smile a little then
Chorus: Somehow through it all, you remained with me
Even though I’m far away, I can still see
Your smiling face, laughing to me
And somehow through it all
Even if I stand or I fall
So low to where I’m down on my knees
I still have you in my memory
Through it all
I remember the day we went to the movies
You passed me twice before you realized
(But so did I)
You looked so different but you were still the same.
I never knew a man could act that way
So laughable but so honest, I had to say
You are a true gem among the rocks
But I never would admit it
I always have been a fool that way
But I’m reminded of our days
And I laugh anyways
Chorus: Somehow through it all, you remained with me
Even though I’m far away, I can still see
Your smiling face, laughing to me
And somehow through it all
Even if I stand or I fall
So low to where I’m down on my knees
I still have you in my memory
Through it all
No matter the occasion, no matter the doubt
No matter a spring or emotional drought
When I talk about you I’ll say
That I always have a smile on my face
Chorus: Somehow through it all, you remained with me
Even though I’m far away, I can still see
Your smiling face, laughing to me
And somehow through it all
Even if I stand or I fall
So low to where I’m down on my knees
I still have you in my memory
Through it all
Thank you for everything
Through it all
