• Baby do you know what happens to me
Each time the phone rings and it’s your name I see?
My face quickly molds into the shape of a smile
Lips growing wider, stretching out to a mile.
I open my phone and I hear your sweet voice
“Hey beautiful,” you say, and I don’t have a choice.
There goes my heart; this pace can’t be healthy,
Beating faster and faster but at the same time it’s melting.
My brain stops responding to everything but you
I almost stop breathing when you whisper, “you’re so cute.”
I don’t think that stomachs are supposed to do that
Pretty sure that the butterflies are butterfly-ing back.
    There it goes.
The control that I thought I had
Laughed at me when you said that.
I want to stand on the rooftops, fill my lungs and shout!
But, “I love you too, baby,” is all I can spit out…
