Second Best

• Description: I felt like I had to write this because there is always that one person who gets all the praise and attention and leaves me to feel like I'm never going to be good enough to be compared with them. I don't expect this poem to 'speak' to anyone because I feel like I'm not a good enough or talented enough for people to listen to, but if it does, thanks. Must I always be below you, to be rated
second best?
Always chasing your dreams, never a time
to rest
Watching you in a distance, to close and a
poison fate
Never-ending waiting, you're too perfect at
any rate
Hoping for a day you fall
So I may rush to take it all
The fool I am! knowing you shall
never fail
As well as I shall never prevail
