Oh Mighty River

• Description: My house is by a river. One night while laying in bed, this poem began taking shape in my head. I let the words flow from my head onto paper and then typed it up on my computer. I don't quite get what it's about, but I've showed it to other people, like my English teaher, my parents, and some friends, and they all seemed to find something behind it. Maybe those of you who read it will too. Please comment.

Oh mighty river
Whose currents flow hither and thither
Take me away from here
I will show no fear

Show me the right way
To go so that I may
Leave this forsaken place
Please, oh mighty river, make haste

Show me the path that is right
Sweep me away with greatest might
Take me wherever your waters flow
Just take me away from this foe

That tries to force me to stay
Please, mighty river, just take me away
Take me someplace; north, south, west, or east;
Far away, where I can live in peace

Oh mighty river, whose currents bend about
Lead me on a journey to take me out
Of this horrible existance
Don't take any pitiance

On me; only allow me
To be forever free

First of all, to the coment above me, abstract art doesn't suck. It just needs to be interpreted. Secondly, this isn't an abstract work; it's quite obvious what the poem is stating.
I quite liked it.

Yeah sometimes the best way to write is where it dont make since, abstract art may suck but it does make money.
