You are
The fuzzy black creature with
A wiggly butt.
One look
Into your eager eyes confirms
That when they were handing out brains
You heard “train” and you got a caboose instead.
You are the house
With the lights on,
But with nobody home.
You see
“Fairies” everywhere
Whether from the flashlight
Or from reflected off a mirror.
If I flip you
On your back, you are a turkey
With four floppy legs and two floppy ears.
You will wait
For your “fairy” to move
Even if it is on
The ceiling.
For a bird,
You are very furry
And, birdseed disagrees with you.
Your singing is rather
More of
A hound-dog howl;
Even so,
You still know
What “cookie” means.
