Crazy Cara was short and stout
Crazy Cara wore a pout
Her mom was a bunny,
Her dad wasn't funny,
& her brother was a trout
One day, Crazy Cara took a walk,
Into the forest where she could talk
Both to herself, & to the plants
No one else liked to hear her rants
So there she sat before a flower,
May was coming, so there were April showers
There she sat, wet & cold
Shivering & shaking, her story was told
'I was born in a teacup, November the third,
My mommy short & fluffy, my daddy a nerd,
I wanted the teapot inside the house,
but it was taken by that stupid mouse!'
'So I lived on a lake, where my big brother belonged,
We stayed up all night playing Jonas brothers' songs,
Until one day - the sun got got,
The water dried up, & all the first were caught'
'My brother was gone, & I had a fever,
but I didn't worry - for I am a bever!
I paddled in the puddles, up no stream,
& saw something spectacular, or so it seemed,'
'It was a HUGE rocket ship;
Red, white, & blue,
I could tell from sitting there -
That it was just brand new!'
'So I hopped inside, & flew to space,
Where I saw an alien with a funny-looking face!
I asked the alien 'how do you do?'
& he replied 'I don't, now shoo!'
'So I flew back home,
As soon as I could,
Eating fried pork dumplings,
& steaming lamb stew'
'Soon winter came,
& it began to snow,
It was then & there,
that I came to know'
'That I was crazy,
I was insane -
& for so very long,
I thought it was a game!'
'So I came back home,
to my mom and dad
Who found out brother was dead
They were so very sad'
'We sat and ate
talked & cried,
I even had to slip in,
a little white lie,'
'That I am not Crazy Cara,
I'm not short & stout,
& I never get in trouble,
Not if I pout.'
'But eventually I got caught,
Shaving dogs & eating pancakes
And was sentenced to an assylum,
With no way to escape '
'So I sat there alone,
In my white, white cell
Listening to screams of other patients,
& loud, buzzing bells'
'I decided one day,
to leave this place,
To sneak out during the night,
as if it were a race,'
'& so I am here,
beside a flower,
the weather is cold,
& thunder showered'
'I must go quickly,
for I can hear them coming,
they're getting closer & closer,
Shouting & running,'
So she stood on her feet,
& took off in a rush,
Crazy Cara disappeared,
& her story was hushed.
The lesson of this story is...?
To not deny that you're crazy,
Because if you do what Cara did,
You'll be alone, talking to a daisy.
