Pushing, pulling, ebb and flow;
From where do you come, and where do you go?
Floating, falling, wake and sleep;
Reach onto land, then back to the deep.
Coming, going, life and death;
How do you breathe, and where is your breath?
Charging, fleeing, light and dark;
Seizing the shoreline, yet leaving no mark.
Roaring, whispering, you and me;
Oh, my companion, who can you be?
Forward, backward, windward and lee;
This is my voice, and I am the sea.
- Title: Voice of the Sea
- Artist: Kannumiko
- Description: I wrote this when we first moved here; we spent a week in San Clemente, California, while my father was buying our house. I loved watching the sea; it's so soft, and hard at the same time. This poem came from that. It may have a few English errors, but I think I got them all.
