Lying face
Down in the mud
Fumbling for sight
Leaning that maybe,
Just maybe,
He wasn't meant for this.
He's only a boy
Barely 18
He didn't see it coming.
But all his life, his friends
Going to war,
He had to help them.
The pain of the world is
Consumed inside the
soldier.
And that's what he's learning.
War is pain and death,
death hurts.
For he will never see
the sun rise.
Never hear the birds sing.
But he learned that day
War isn't a game.
He learned that
Soldiers hold the pain.,
