I’ve been burnt before while playing your games
But I’ve never been hurt not once complained
Scars heal over and the blisters fade
Just another day without getting laid
Under these status things could look bleak
Why can’t you admit when you’ve been beat
Judge me by the style and note the class
None of this matters while you’re chasing a**
Why waste effort looking for a hole
You can’t get away when it’s all your fault
Fire gets hot as you should have guessed
Get to close and you’ll burn your flesh
Wish you’d leave and let me play
I’m bored of your games wish you’d go away
Time ticks over don’t want to wait
Patience is a virtue that I can’t take
Who’s gonna save you
This time not me
Who’s gonna put out all your flames
Waking up before the world gets dark
Difficult to do when you’ve got no heart
Things get worse when you’re sparking up
Don’t know how you ever feel you’ve had enough
Tears burn down her porcelain face
Start the engine up and keep the pace
Burning games are fun for a little while
But ashes can’t complain when she doesn’t smile
Who’s gonna save you
This time not me
Who’s gonna put out all your flames
Who’s gonna take you
Take you far away
Who’ll ever let you play your games

Description:
I've tried writing this a few times now. Started with an instrumental jam that I then put lyrics too. I think this is the third or forth set I've written, all based on the chorus which I haven't changed in any version.
Each version I've written has meant something different to me, but all based loosely on a fire. In this particular version the fire is a metaphor for a friend of mines explosive personality.
Hope you enjoy it. - Date: 07/29/2008
