A child sees the world in black and white
When they see grey
That's when they've grown up
Not everything is good or bad
Some hide behind a mask of kindness
And others a mask of indifference
And some are just plain desperate.
In a fantasy world,
There's the hero,
And there's the villian.
In the real world,
Perhaps the hero does it for their own gain
And the villain is just desperate.
In the fantasy world
The hero will always
Always, always beat the villian.
In real life,
The hero doesn't always win.
Sometimes they lose.
A child sees the world in black and white,
When they see gray,
That's when they're grown up.
They say ignorance is bliss
But ignorance is a weakness
Intelligence and cunning
Will actually get people where they want to go.
Without knowledge,
There is no thought,
Only mindlessness
Knowledge may bring fantasy crashing down,
And it may be hard to accept
And blurr the lines between good and bad
But when a childrealizes this
Thats when they're grown up.
It has nothing to do with age.
A child sees the world in black and white
When they see grey
Thats when they're grown up.
