Over fire, under stone,
A lone figure slips unknown.
Past a sentry, through a door.
On runs the night, ever more.
Black and silent it proceeds,
Leaving room for evil deeds.
Creeping up through the dusk,
Hissing past, leaving hush.
On and on the darkness slides.
To naught but dawn it abides.
Shut the window, lock the door,
On runs Night, evermore.
